Why Spoken English in an English Medium School? • Parents put their children in English medium schools primarily to ensure that they speak excellent English. • But even after 10 – 12 years of schooling we are unable to make every child speak in decent English. • The problem is that though we have a number of subjects on English as well as Grammar, we do have any subject on Spoken English. • Therefore, a child passing out of school, though can read and write very well, finds it difficult to converse with the fluency that by now should have been a given.
