  2. Introduction A Bah mitzvah is a great big feast that Jewish boys have on their 13th birthday. A Bah mitzvah is a celebration symbolizing a boy becoming a man. In a Bah mitzvah the boy is lifted up on a chair as every one dances to the ceremonial music.

  3. What does it mean? There is no such thing as “having”a Bah mitzvah, when a boy reaches the age of 13 years old, they “become ”a Bah mitzvah, which means “Son of the commandment.” Also a Bat mitzvah means daughter of the commandment. This is a celebration for Jewish girls. One of your only concerns is fulfilling the commandments joyfully that’s what Bah mitzvah is all about.

  4. MORE INFO The Bah Mitzvah is about the boy becoming an adult member of the Jewish faith. The religious part of the celebration takes place at a synagogue. The boy reads from a sacred text known as the Torah The boy wears a shawl known as a tallt and a skull cap called a kippah.
