  1. A Brief Lowdown on PYP Mode of Learning Education is an evolving field and most of the learning institutions are moving away from textbook- based learning to more practical learning approaches. Schools offering International Baccalaureate programs base their curriculum foundations on learning that revolves around enquiry and questioning. This program motivates the pupils as well as the teachers to question what is being taught and challenge the notions and theories that have been published in school textbooks since time immemorial. Primary Years Programme, also known as PYP curriculum, is a thoughtful learning programme undertaken by the IB organization and aimed for pupils aged between 3 years and 12 years. Various IB schools in India offer this program for students who are preparing for their IB Middle Years Programme. Various education and learning experts have lauded the PYP system of learning and are in favour of learning that uses enquiry as a basic foundation. IB schools in different parts of the world rely on this technique and this has given them a leading edge from other schools who are still using the rote- based learning for their students. The whole idea behind enquiry-inspired learning is to encourage students to expand their skill base by coming up with new doubts and also finding answers to the challenges. International schools in Mumbai used the PYP learning model which comprises of sharpening one’s research abilities, developing a curriculum planner followed by creating an action cycle that all surround around a framework based on enquiry methodology. IB schools that follow this methodology are bound to gain several benefits by choosing to adopt PYP learning model. First and very important, they are able to devise high-quality and well-researched education programmes that back the creation of a scientific and a well-informed temperament and also develops a curious mind among the pupils. It also leads to better management of resources as teachers and other professionals are effectively trained in this form of learning.
