  3. Allah swears by the token of time By Time Verily Man is in loss, Except such as have Faith, and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of Patience.

  4. Time is a witness ... • To life and death • To what has passed in human history • To success and failure of individuals • To the rise and fall and communities • Do not abuse TIME

  5. Asr - age which implies continuity of time. • Literally - to wring out or press out • sense of unfolding of the future by squeezing the past.

  6. The Clock of Age • The Clock of Age reducing life by the tick of every passing second • TIME • most valuable capital that we have is being lost in the process

  7. The Clock of Age • "There are two blessings that most delude people, health and free time.” • Prophet Muhammad (saw) • Gift from the Creator • proper use will determine our outcome for eternity.

  8. 4 Categories • Divide your tasks into four essential categories, and define them as • Urgent and Important, • Not Urgent but Important, • Urgent but not Important • Not Urgent and Not Important,

  9. Count your blessings • Allah has endowed me with gifts and talents • I have to utilize these to my full potential, always doing the best I can. • I have the freedom to make my choices • My way His way or Allah’s way

  10. Time to Act • from making excuses to providing ideas • from focusing on faults to finding solutions • from blaming others to analyzing ourselves

  11. Time to Act • from making mere promises to fulfilling commitments • from letting things happen to making things happen • from the shackles of the past to the possibilities of the future.

  12. The Prophet (pbuh) said: • "Three things follow the deceased to his grave; ahlihi / his family, maalihi / his wealth and 'amalihi / his deeds; his family and wealth return, only his deeds remain with him."

  13. To realize the value of ONE WEEK…… ask the editor of a weekly newspaper To realize the value of ONE HOUR…… ask the Mum and the Son who are waiting to meet.

  14. To realize the value of ONE YEAR…. ask a student who failed a grade To realize the value of ONE MONTH….. ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby .

  15. To realize the value of ONE MINUTE….. ask a person who missed the train. To realize the value of ONE SECOND…. ask a person who just avoided an accident. To realize the value of ONE MILLISECOND….. ask the person who won a silver medal in the Olympics.

  16. Making the Best of the Present • Spend much time dwelling in the past • The present is all we have

  17. Yesterday is history. • Tomorrow is mystery. • Today is a gift. • That’s why it’s called …. • The Present !

  18. But I don’t have time !!!! • Gadgets to save time. • Task that used to take months accomplished in minutes; • YET • life is more hectic than ever before,

  19. Never ending occupation • “One who wakes up with his whole attention directed towards the world is cut off from Allah, and Allah shall make four qualities to accompany him:

  20. Never ending occupation • Endless Sorrow • never ending occupation, • a neediness which is never relieved • a hope which is never achieved.”

  21. Time Management is Life Management • Value five things before five; • Value youth before old age, • health before sickness, • free time before being occupied • Wealth before poverty • life before death. • [Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)]

  22. Live life to the full • Life happens at the level of action, • not at the level of thought, • neither at the level of circumstance nor of emotion. • "O Allah! Let us not be of those content to wait and see what will happen, but grant us the determination to make the right things happen." • [prayer of Jalaluddin Rumi]"

  23. Living for Others • Our lives are but part of a larger story. • How do we contribute it? • "Socialize with people in such a way that when you die, they mourn for you; and when you live, they desire your company “ Ali (RA)."
