Welcome Welcome to Camp Zoneat Chesterbrook Academy Camp Zone® offers fun-filled summer programs for children ages 2-12.Each week, campers jump into action, participating in exciting sports programs, exploring nature, becoming involved in performing and creative arts, playing a part in group activities, and attending special events. Our campers have the opportunity to expand their horizons during the summer, embarking on new adventures, and having fun! Our exceptional program and dedicated staff create an environment that forges lifelong friendships among our campers. We create a summer experience that is unforgettable! It all starts with our outstanding camp counselors.A camp is only as good as its staff, and we are extremely proud of ours. Talent, creativity, love of children, leadership and devotion make our camp counselors the heart and soul of the program. We take our camp programs seriously and begin our summer with intensive staff training and orientation. Camp Zone® counselors and specialists are doing exactly what they enjoy most: spending a summer inspiring campers to explore, reach for new heights, and expand their horizons. Camp Zone®. Camp Zone® includes five days of activities, from 6:30am – 6:30 pm. We offer a range of outdoor activities, plus indoor activities conducted in our fully air conditioned facility.   3. Themes Summer Camp Weekly Themes Green Crusaders on the Eco-Express Summer 2009 This summer, jump on the train and join our Eco-Express! You will enjoy our world of adventure, art, science and fitness. Each week we will explore different ways to help the earth through action packed field trip adventures. We will also discover “Going Green” through various experiments, shows and activities. Join us as we experience the fun of “The Eco-Express 2009!” Week 1- June 22 – June 26 “Welcome to Going Green” During this week the campers will be introduced to what it means to “go green”. We will enjoy a moon bounce, crafts, snowcones and much more at our summer camp kick off party! Week 6- July 27 – July 31 “Glorious Glaciers” The campers will explore the environment at the Air and Space Museum. Week 7- August 3 – August 7 “Endangered Species” We will continue our journey at the National Zoo in Washington, DC. Week 2- June 29 – July 2 “Ocean Protectors” While learning about our Earth’s water resources, we will also take a tour of the Baltimore Aquarium. Week 8- August 10 – August 14 “Energy Savers” This week includes a trip to Play Wise Kids where the kids show us what they know about energy. Week 3- July 6 – July 10 “Farm for the Future” Our eco-exploration continues as we explore progressive farming concepts and take a trip to Frying Pan Farm Park. Week 9- August 17 – August 21 “Super Skies” The sky’s the limit as we blast off to the planetarium at the Maryland Science Museum. Week 4- July 13 – July 17 “Buggy Benefits” This week includes a trip to the Insect Zoo and Old Mine Ranch. We will crawl into exploration during our “Bug Dig”. Week 10- August 24 – August 28 “Wonderful Wetlands” We will explore the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens and the Wetlands of Huntley Meadows Park. Week 5- July 20 – July 24 “Tree-Mendous Helpers” As we discover the roles that plants play in our eco-system, we will observe them directly while we enjoy a performance at Wolf Trap’s Theatre in the Woods. Week 11- August 31 – September 3 “Weary Weather”Our camp concludes with one last trip to the water park and a performance from “BJ and Cody”.
