This workshop focuses on the Resource Asset Registration Form (RARF) critical for compliance with ERCOT protocols. Attendees will learn about the essential data requirements for screening studies and full interconnection phases, including primary and secondary frequency response data, machine parameters, and environmental considerations like water rights. The workshop aims to simulate grid behavior, prevent reliability issues, and facilitate additional studies such as SSR/SSI. Participants will gather insights on integrating conventional and renewable resources while addressing design parameters and risk analysis.

  1. Registration revisions Anuj Dixit Planning Engineer Resource Integration RARF Modeling Workshop

  2. Resource Asset Registration Form (RARF) Data Requirement • Data submitted by Resource Entities (REs) • Required at Screening Study and Full Interconnection Phase • Obtained from http://www.ercot.com/gridinfo/generation/ in the RARF zip folder (also contains the guide)

  3. Purpose • Compliance to ERCOT protocols • Capture data to simulate behavior of the grid and prevent reliability issues • Perform additional studies like SSR/SSI • Gather information for Extreme Weather Surveys and Drought Analysis

  4. New additions • Primary and secondary frequency response data (e.g. Governor droop setting) • Design parameters (e.g. Max and min ambient temperatures) • Machine data (e.g. Direct axis transient and subtransient reactance, sequence data) • PSSE Stability Study Model and parameters specific to the site • PSCAD Design Model (for units in areas vulnerable to SSR/SSI)

  5. New additions (contd) • Conventional Generation Resources • Water source and water rights information (e.g. TCEQ water rights number) • Gas pipeline layout and data (e.g. Name of Gas pipeline connected) • Intermittent Renewable Resources (solar and wind) • Inverter and Turbine data ( type, size and number) • Voltage ride through capability information • Collector system data

  6. Gas pipeline information RPG
