  1. To respond appropriately to the most ethically relevant factors we will discuss the justifiable possible actions to consider. There were many different things we recommend in responding to this case in an ethical fashion. The first recommendation is to see the case out to the supreme court in support of Peggy. Referring to the Davis v. Davis Case () in 2004, we use the structure used for determining the fate of the embryos in that case and apply it to our case. The court created a hierarchical structure for disposition of the embryos. It follows three steps: first, the preferences of the genetic parents are considered; second, a prior agreement; and third, weighing the interests of the parties. Since the preference of the genetic parents...show more content... In this case, ethically relevant factors are infringed upon, that is, certain factors are treated with less sensitivity than other factors. The infringed upon factors are John's desire not to have a baby, his genetic claim of ownership over the embryo, the significance of an unwanted potential connection between the parents, and on the previous agreement to render the unused embryos to research. In this case, such infringement is justified. I will explain how certain ethically relevant factors weigh more than others. Based on Ethical Aspects of Cryobiology and What are Family's For, the significance of Peggy's desire to have and raise a child outweighs John's desire not to have the baby. The moral weight of Peggy's claim also outweighs John's genetic claim because the potential for life of a baby outweighs the property rights of John. According to de Watcher," When two people have a joint decision–making authority over a frozen embryo, one person's objection to...using it for research takes a back seat to life. The desire to instigate the life by one party overrules the consent of one party to end it the possibility through donation to research (). Implantation is justified even with a small contingency because it satisfies Peggy's wishes. If the implantation does not work, there is not really a loss by either party so both parties should be ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  3. Ethical Issues In The Collector Nichelle Hulka Dr. Collins English 101 November 15, 2015 Strangeland John Fowles novel, The Collector, presents tension, emotional reactions, and complex drama with a unique style that expresses a dual narrative giving a realistic and chilling perspective of a captive and an abductor in the 1960's. Fowles novel takes you on a journey of two different viewpoints in which he leaves readers wondering whether the series of events can be true or whether one tale of events can be more rational than the other. The main character, Clegg, is an entomologist and just recently won the lottery. He feels as if he could do anything, including winning over the girl of his dreams; even if that means he has to kidnap her. Young, smart, beautiful, and a hopeful art student; Miranda Grey...show more content... Opposite of Clegg, Miranda hates collecting. While in Clegg's entomology room Miranda states, "Aren't you going to show me my fellow victims" (Fowles 54) Miranda can be seen as a part of Clegg's collection and even jokes about it. Their differences in views is important to understanding their characters. In a review by Kelsey Bennett, she explains that a major theme in The Collector is ethics (Bennett.) While I did not incorporate a theme of ethics in my own review, I agree with Bennett. Ethics is an important factor in order to understand The Collector's characters actions and thoughts. Miranda views Clegg's status of new money as a "horrid timid copycatting genteel in– between class" (Fowles 172.) Miranda believes that even if Clegg would try and better himself he would never truly be a part of her higher level life. Clegg is seen as ignorant and lower class thus he cannot make ethically sound decisions. Miranda even tells Clegg at one point that she's trying to show him his ignorant and unethical ways. Their difference in class explains their different values and why one character would think their actions, like kidnapping, is ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  4. Footnote It was a story of a boy who was only 17 when he decides to marry his love one. He was dodong, and he love teang so much that he could not wait for the right age to settle down in a relationship that is hard to escape. It 's the "marriage". At the age of 17 dodong and teang got married without thinking of the risk being in an uneasy part of life. They just follow what they feel. They don 't think what would happen in their future. They got a child. Teang realized how hard being a young parent. Her regret of she had done and think, what would be my life if i marry my other suitors instead of dodong? She cried sometimes, wishing she had not married. She did not tell Dodong this, not wishing him to dislike her. Yet she wished she had not married. Not even Dodong whom she loved. It is interesting to note here that Teang still claims to love Dodong despite the hardships they have gone through. It should also be noted that Yet she wished she had not married, is a sentence that is separated from Not even Dodong whom she loved, meaning it is the act of marrying at a young age that she regrets, not the fact that it is Dodong whom she married. Not marrying Dodong was only an after–thought. The story goes on, however, to describe another suitor Teang had, Lucio, who was older than Dodong by nine years. Lucio had married another after her marriage to Dodong, but he and his wife were childless until now. If she had married Lucion, she wondered, would she have borne him children? Maybe not, either. That was a better lot. But she loved Dodong.... Here we are given a clearer picture about her unhappiness and disappointment. It is particularly regarding child–bearing at a young age that Teang is unhappy with. ...would she have borne him children? Maybe not, either. That was a better lot. 5. 2015 NBA Draft: A Footnote In NBA History The 2015 NBA Draft is nothing now but a footnote in NBA history and now the Summer League is underway. Were all aware of who the top players are and who's projected to carry the torch that the last generation of stars will leave behind but there are players worth mentioning who might not have received the press that they deserve. In this year's draft, the next agent zero or even the next Paul Millsap was picked late in the first round or even the second. It's too early to tell who the stars are that missed the lottery but there is a couple of sleepers that are just as good as the players picked in the lottery and here's a couple of names you should get used to. Young was awarded the Pac–12 Player of the Year last season, along with First–team All–Pac–12 and Third–team All–American Sporting News honors. And rightfully so. Young averaged 20.7 points per game, 3.8 assists, and 4.4 rebounds, shooting 35 percent from behind the arc. Young is not shy when it comes looking for his own shot and profiles as someone who can come off the bench and contribute right away from either guard spot. As a photographer it is the evidence collectors responsibility to not only take pictures of evidence that has been found. But also of the whole scene in general. 8. Jose Garcia Villa's Footnote To Youth The short story "Footnotes to Youth", written by Filipino writer Jose Garcia Villa, talks about a young boy at the age of seventeen Dodong, who was initially very enthusiastic about life, but then the obstacles and tribulations of life got the best of him and made him became grim about life. This goes for same for his wife Teang, who carried the burden of taking care of six children and doing household chores, and as a result she became shapeless and thin. Both of their lives became miserable after having children despite their young age. By reading the literary text "Footnotes to Youth", it is found that the theory of psychoanalysis is applied in the story. Through the dreams and the thoughts of the character, it is shown that the characters of the story had inner feelings within them....show more content... He thought that life had been made ugly for him after his marriage to Teang. Teang felt the same, as she wished that she was not married, or at least that she had no children. There is also denial when Blas told his father, Dodong, about his proposal to Tona. Dodong couldn't believe that his son was doing the same thing as he did eighteen years ago. However, he could not do anything but to give his blessings to his son reluctantly and hoped that he would able to go through th tribulation of life. There is also evidence of archetypes, an easily recognizable role in literature and drama. It is found that one character can have more than one archetype, as long they meet the requirements. In the short story "Footnotes to Youth", it is discovered that Teang was the anima, or the ideazed female in Dodong's mind, as he constantly dreamt of her day and night. He desired her, and wanted to marry her. Tona was the anima in Blas' mind as well. The statement he gave to his father, Dodong, that he "wanted" her, suggested that he had a sense of possessiveness within ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

Dodong did not bother to look where it fell, but thought of his age, seventeen, and he said to himself he was not young any more. Dodong unhitched the carabao leisurely and gave it a healthy tap on the hip. The beast turned its head to look at him with dumb faithful eyes. Dodong gave it a slight push and the animal walked alongside him to its shed. He placed bundles of grass before it land the carabao began to eat. Dodong looked at it without interests. Dodong started homeward, thinking how he would break his news to his father. He wanted to marry, Dodong did. 10. Notes On Leadership And Management 1. Leadership and Management Leadership and management are 2 major concepts in the world of business and most likely to be confused with each others. This assignment tries to determine if there are any differences between the 2 concepts. 1.1 Leadership Definition Leadership has many different definitions, however, leadership in management is defined as the leader is the person who others are following, and to have followers it's a process that needs an impact of that person on others to follow him. (Yuki, 1989) Leadership is also believed to be a form of social interaction process that happen among members of a team or a group, and leadership is the skill that person can lead the followers in most efficient way. (Katter, 2001) Leaders are also considered to be playing an essential rule in any organization; they are the passion and the creativity they can introduce to the workers within organization. Leaders are gifted with flexibility, innovation, inspiration, courageous and independence. Managers on the other hands are the mind, the rational and persistence, analytical, authoritiv and stabilizing. (Capowski, 1994) The main question here still is what is the difference between management and leadership? The major difference between managers and leaders is the way they motivate their staff. The style of their role wither they are managing a group or leading a team to succeed and achieve the set goals. Managers are not necessary leaders and on the other hand leaders do not need to be managers to lead others to achieve goals and targets. However, some people can be both if they are assigned as mangers and gifted with the leadership skills, qualities and personality to be able to have others following them. 1.3 Management Theories There are 4 main models of management that theories and approaches adopt in the style of management. ; The Classical Management Theory, Human Relations Theory, Neo–Human relation theory and System Theory. 12. Ethical Conduct In Short-Writing And Analysis An attorney's reputation is built by the care taken in brief writing. The judge generally is influenced by an attorney's brief than by any other form of argument made; therefore, the brief carries persuasive impact, for good or bad, not only for a current client but all future ones. Linda H. Edwards, Legal Writing and Analysis, 167 (4th ed. 2015). Although the six duties of ethical conduct in brief–writing are equally relevant, I have placed six duties of ethical conduct in the following order, in the order of highest importance to least importance. 1. A brief–writer must not knowingly make a false statement of law. 2. A brief–writer must not knowingly make a false statement of fact. 3. A brief–writer must not intentionally disregard filing requirement or other obligations imposed by court rules. 4. This can be seen when Yunior rejects the supposed objectivity of history by questioning, "Where in coñazo do you think the so–called cure of the Kennedys comes from? How about Vietnam? Why do you think the greatest power in the world lost its first war to a Third World country like Vietnam?"
