  2. Birth- May 7, 1919 Maria Eva Duarte (also nicknamed Evita) was born in a little village called Los Toldos, a province in Buenos Aires, Argentina and lived with her 5 other siblings. Her father was Juan Duarte, a wealthy rancher who was never married to Eva’s mother, Juana Ilbarguren.   4. Leaving Home- 1934 • When Eva was 15, she had AugustinMigaldi, a singer, take her to Buenos Aires. There she pursued her dreams of becoming a stage, radio and film actress.   6. Early Life with Juan Peron- 1943-1945 • In 1943, Eva met Juan Peron who recently assumed the post of secretary of labor and social welfare in the military government. In 1945, Peron was arrested and put in prison by military people who didn’t support him, and Eva led a large protest.   8. Rainbow Tour- 1947 • Eva Peron went on the “Rainbow Tour” of Europe where she met with many heads of state, like the Pope and Fransico Franco. She visited many places throughout Europe like the tombs of Spanish monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella.   10. Eva Peron Foundation- June 19, 1948 • The foundation came into being in 1948 and obtained received non-profit states on July 8. The foundation lasted from Septemeber 25, 1950, until it was destroyed by the military in 1955.   12. Spiritual Leader- June 4, 1952 The presidential election of 1952, which her husband one, was the first election of which women could vote. She organized the women into a truly powerful political party.   14. Death- July 26, 1952 • At 8:25 pm, Eva Peron died at the age of 33. All of Argentina stopped: movies stopped playing, and restaurants closed. Everyone was in mourning. She suffered from lung cancer and went through chemontherapy, but it was not enough. She only weighed about 79 pounds when she passed.   16. After Death- 1955-1971 • After sixteen years, the military finally revealed the location of her body. She had been buried in a crypt in Milan, Italy, under the name "MaríaMaggi".
