Spearheaded by the Leadership Development Committee, this program offers high-value training sessions, workshops, and inspirational meetings every quarter at District Meetings and Regional Training Centers. By focusing on practical resources and motivational topics, we equip leaders with the tools necessary for success. Join us in cultivating and encouraging future leaders to foster a positive impact in their communities.

  4. Leadership Development • Purpose: To plan, promote and conduct the training of Club and District leaders making them more effective leaders. To cultivate and encourage future Optimist leaders. • Leadership Development Committee: • Jim Carroll, Chair (2 years) • Chuck Champlin, Governor-Elect (1 year) • Gerry O’Meara, Immediate Past Chair (1 year) • TBD (3 years)

  5. The 5 W’s Who: LD Committee, District and Club leaders, and a team of Optimist and professional trainers. What: High value training and information on available leadership resources and tools. Why: To provide the District Team with all the necessary tools to be successful in their positions. Where and When: At the District Meetings and at Regional Training Centers every Quarter.

  6. District Meetings Professional speakers, presentations, seminars, workshops, and roundtables. Emphasis on “Inspiration and Motivation.” What subjects/topics would you like to have?

  7. Regional Training • Emphasis on “Nuts and Bolts” and the How To’s of running a Club. • Conducted by Lt. Governors with the assistance of the Leadership Development Committee. • Regions: • Northwest (Santa Barbara) – Zones 6, 12 & 13 • Northeast (Bakersfield) – Zones *3, 4, 8 & 11 • South (LA Metro/SFV) – Zones 1, 2, 7 & 10
