The Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) is dedicated to ensuring that public highways meet the defense needs of the Department of Defense (DOD). By collaborating with national, state, and commercial partners, SDDC integrates defense transportation requirements into infrastructure planning. Key initiatives include assessing STRAHNET roadways for safety and suitability, improving access roads to ports, and securing toll relief through public-private partnerships. With expected growth in military personnel, SDDC supports local communities in meeting these burgeoning demands through strategic policies and funding mechanisms.
