Christchurch earthquake • NDRF provided coordination for members responding • Linkages to Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management • Knowledge, expertise, advisory service • Assisting local partners and accessing large volunteer networks • Plugging gaps from policy level to local response • Generated significant learning surrounding ‘domestic response’

  5. Partnership with the PHT • Members serve individually on clusters • NDRF links to OCHA through the Council for International Development • NDRF sits on NZ Govt. Emergency Task Force and Int. Assistance Cell • Facilitates industry training e.g. Sphere, pre-deployment for NZDF • Provides coordination for multi-agency/ multi-country funding agreements • Provides a platform for sharing PHT information with NZ based agencies
