  1. Self-Image Self-Image and Your Teeth Your Teeth and Nobody will deny that the appearance of your teeth – and therefore smile – will impact on one’s self-image and how others look at and experience us. Just as much as people connect to others by looking into their eyes, they look at the other person’s mouth, and therefore at their teeth the moment they smile or start talking. In fact, many individuals with bad, unattractive teeth try not to smile, or they may turn their face away from others for fear of feeling less, of feeling unattractive and therefore not worthy of others’ attention as it were. On the other hand, those with lovely, healthy, white teeth are often more popular and taken more seriously. Good teeth – also bad teeth – can therefore severely impact individuals’ self-image, and how others may view them.

  2. That is why aesthetic, or cosmetic, dental services have become so popular and why many people make sure they look around for a good dentist – or specialist dentist – to ensure their teeth look great. Many go to great lengths and are happy to pay impressive sums to ensure they have the best teeth and most beautiful smiles. Of course, as is the case with everything in life, there are different cosmetic services to help the individual have greater looking teeth once more, since discolouring or broken teeth, for example, will be the result of either not having looked after you teeth, but often because of the advancing years. Many people drink a lot of coffee and tea, which can lead to teeth losing their shine, also. Whatever the reason for teeth to lose their previous beauty or lovely pearly white glow, it is good to know that there are procedures to help reverse the effect of time and the years. Good dentists, and especially those offering years in their industry, and many with superior qualifications such as specialists, are indeed able to correct and reverse many problems related to your teeth by offering you cosmetic dental services. The most common of these is the teeth whitening procedures that individuals often enquire about and book appointments for. It is one of the most basic procedures to look attractive when you smile, provided of course you do not have unattractive teeth, such as chipped or crooked teeth, or teeth with abnormally large spaces between them, for example. In that case you may need more advanced treatment than whitening, which is often achieved by bleaching. Bleaching can be done by the dentist as an in-office, chemical procedure, or the patient is sent home with a home-use bleaching kit. A good dentist will obviously sit the patient down and explain the process carefully, also informing them of whatever after-care processes will be important for the best results. Teeth whitening is a great tool to help individuals toward greater looking teeth again. It is important though to heed the advice of the dentist in terms of how you look after your teeth after the treatment. This is only one possibility, depending on what your needs and expectations are. For other problems patients may need different assistance, and therefore a visit to the dentist to repair broken or chipped, or cracked, teeth may be required. These issues may be corrected by bonding materials that the dentist applies where necessary to ensure the teeth are in good condition again – and the smile on one’s
