  2. London is the capital of the United Kingdom. This is a very large city which is located by the RiverThames. This town is situated in the south eastern part of the United Kingdom. There are approximately 8 173 941 mln people inhabited. The Density in London is around 5200 per square kilometer (km2). What is more, London is the capital of the European fashion, entertainmentand business. London is a very diversified in terms of cultural and religions influence because of numerous immigrations to this city. Londoners are highly fond of the Royal Family members who live in the Buckingham Palace with Queen Elizabeth II

  3. When we are in London we can get around using many means of transport for example: black taxis, red double decker buses and the Tube – the underground. In London there are 5 airports suchas “Luton”, “Heathrow”, “City Airport”, “Gatwick” and “Stansted”. In London there are 25 000 streets and each taxi driver must know them, which is very challenging.

  4. Tourists who come to London mainly visit famous landmarks such as: Big Ben- this is the clock tower, on 12 September 2012 the tower was officially named ”Elizabeth Tower” in honour of 60-year rule of Queen ElizabethII

  5. Buckingham Palace – the official residence of the British monarch. It is the biggest palace in the world still performing its basic function. This is the one of the greatest late baroque pearls and this is official residence of the Queen in London. In front of the palace you can see a statue of Queen Victoria.

  6. Trafalgar Square – it is a square in central London and it is a traditional place for political meetings and New Year’s Eve

  7. London Eye or Millennium Wheel – the ferris wheel located on the southernbank of the River Thames between bridges of Westminster and Hungerford. The wheel is 135 meters high and its full rotation takes around 30 minutes. There are 32 air-conditioned passenger capsules.

  8. Madame Tussauds – the museum of waxworks of famous people. Founded by Marie Tussaud in 1835, where we can take aphoto of the image of many famous people such as Rihanna, Beyonce or Prince William

  9. TheBritish Museum - one of the largest museums of ancient history. There are exhibits such as Egyptian mummies, Beninese bronzes, Sutton Hoo treasure and Amarna letters.

  10. Tower Bridge – the bascule bridge in London hanging over the River Thames near the Tower of London. It was built in Victorian style.

  11. In London there areplenty of great and expensive shopssuch as: Harrods-the luxurious department store situated on Brompton Road in Knightsbridge. In addition to this department store, Harrods Group Includes Harrods Bank, Harrods Estates, Harrods Casino, Harrods Aviation and Air Harrods

  12. Fortnum & Mason – also known as Fortnum’s – it is a British luxurious department store, located in Piccadilly. The company got many titles of Royal Warrant granted for supplies of goodies and services to the British Royal family

  13. Liberty is a department store on Regent Street in the West End district. This department sells a wide range of luxurious products including women’s, men’s and children’s fashion, cosmetics, fragrances, jewellery, homeware accessories, furniture and gifts. Liberty is famous for floral and graphic prints. For those who like doing the shopping I would recommend a visit on one of the main shopping streets, including Regent Street or Oxford Street.

  15. RESTAURANTS IN LONDON • AFFORDABLE a restaurant named “Terroirs”. They offer French food. Located centrally near the Charing Cross tube station. They have a very rich menu with a frequently changing list, a tapas-style bar, snacks, meals of the day and grilled ones. • MID RANGE a restaurant named “Baltic” specialized in parties and business lunches. They offer Polish and central European (for example Belarus) cuisine. This restaurant is one of Jan Woroniecki’s original London restaurants. It’s a big place, loud and with closely spaced tables. • The restaurant is under appreciated but one of the best in the city.

  16. RESTAURANTS IN LONDON • EXPENSIVE “Harwood Arms” which is located near the Fullham Broadway tube station. They offer British food. This is the sort of place that would make one proud to be British. Apart from its thick hessian napkins and bread in linen bags, its heart is still firmly set in the gastropub tradition. • VERY EXPENSIVE a restaurant named “Texture”. They offer modern European food with Asian influence. Located at 34 Portman st. This restaurant is perfect for a date but remember that it will be expensive.

  18. LONDON LANDMARKS • Palace of Westmister- The palace of the meetings of both chambers of Parliament of the United Kingdom. It was rebuilt after a fire in 1834. One of the famous parts of the palace is Big Ben. • St. James’s Palace is one of the oldest palaces in London. It islocated in the City of Westminster. It is still used by the royal family, and therefore is inaccessible to tourists. • Marble Arch. This is a marble monument, located in the City of Westminster, on the edge of Hyde Park. In the past, only members of the royal family and the Royal Horse Artillery troops were allowed to pass under the arch.

  19. LONDON LANDMARKS • The Monument to the Great Fire of London called simply Monument. This is the highest free-standing stone column in the world. It commemorates the Great Fire of London, which took place in 1666. It is located in the City of Westminster. • Globe Theatre is one of the oldest theatres in London. The theatre was built in 1599. We could see William Shakespeare’s plays there.

Free internet access is available the Buckingham Palace and its gardens are just over 1 mile away. • Royal Garden Hotel. A 10-minute walk from Royal Albert Hall, this 5-star Kensington hotel offers spectacular London views and a holistic spa. The hotel has 3 bars and 2 restaurants, including Min Jiang on the 10th floor with its spectacular views of Kensington Gardens.

  23. HOTELS • CHEAPEST: • The Duke of Fife is located in the heart of East London, close to the Olympic Park. Free Wi-Fi access is available. Rooms have shared bathrooms, whilst there is an en suite apartment with a balcony. Each modern, spacious room has a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Shops, supermarkets and restaurants are located within a 15-minute walk, offering a variety of eclectic cuisine. • The Union Cottageis situated a 15 minute drive from the Westfield Shopping Centre and the Olympics Village. It offers accommodation with free Wi-Fi and HD TVs with Sky Sports satellite channels. A DVD player, tea/coffee making facilities and a table and a chair is provided in each room at the hotel.
