  1. What are the effective termite control methods? Termites are the biggest threat to homes. Many homeowners do not realize the termite infestation until it’s too late. There are different signs of termite infestation such as faded or lose drywall, small, pinpoint holes in the walls, peeling paint which looks like water seepage, wood that sounds hollow when tapped, tiles loosening, sagging floors, the presence of their wings etc. If homeowners observe any of these signs, they must seek professional help to save their home. There are many termite control methods or treatments which are effective in controlling termite invasion at your place. You have the option of chemical and nonchemical termite treatment techniques. However, the chemical treatment will be more effective to eradicate the termite issue whereas nonchemical treatment techniques will not give the long-lasting results. Have a look on the most common chemical treatments which are highly effective for termite prevention-  Soil-applied liquid treatments: It is most common chemical termite protection techniques. This treatment contains termite killing pesticide. More than just eliminating any termites which are invaded in the home, soil-applied liquid treatments also builds a long-term barrier that aids to prevent any infestations in the future.  Termite Baits: Termite baits have slow-acting insecticides. These baits are positioned around the home’s boundary, either on the active hollow mud tubes or underground. This termite prevention technique has a very smaller negative health impact on the environment as well as on the human in general. Termites consume the bait and transmit the poison all across the invasion, thereby slowly, yet completely kill the termite colony.  Borates: These are chemical substances which are derived from Boron (a natural element extracted from the earth). Characteristically, borates are used as a preventive method to cover the cracks and crevices in the home, thus helps in averting termites from getting the entry. Borates can be in injurious to humans and animals, so borate techniques are generally used only in hidden areas where termites feed. Non-chemical treatment  Fungi: Termites feed on specific species of fungi, while some are deadly to them and can work as a natural poison. Metarhizium anisopliae is most effective just like termite baits. The spores inside the fungi act as a slow-acting poison that transmits from the first infected termite to the rest of the invasion. This termite protection treatment can effectively destroy the colony in some weeks of time.  Nematodes: Nematodes are tiny roundworms which look for and enter the termites and other insects. They live inside them as parasites and feed until the host get killed. Nematodes are seen as a safest yet effective termite prevention way as compare to other termite-extermination efforts because they have no negative effect on humans, plants or pets.  Sand: Sand can offer a great protection against termite. It does not absorb moisture and also cannot be tunneled through, thus making it one of the effective termite control methods. More than just basic prevention, it is also an effective tool for
