Winfirst game on 28th June 2008. • 2008 April – cricket is introducedintotheofficialsports curriculum of Peter Pazmany University

History of Hungariancricket • 2008 Initial Board of 3 members formed and ratified by all teams in May 2008 • 2009 First screening of cricket report on prime-time television (RTL Klub) • 2009 The Hungary women’s team hosts a team from Paris at Gödöllő University • 2009 Hungarian cricketers provide expert commentary on Eurosport coverage of the ICC World Twenty 20 Cup and the Champions League in India • 2010 Obtained legal registration as an official sports’ entity • 2010 Established senior league for 7 teams; second visit to regional T20. Hungarian national team won in Macedonia. • 2011 HCA Board elected for 2 further years by the registered players (Adrian Zádor joins to replace David Brown) • 2011 Two leagues totalling 11 teams; MPI 35 with 7 teams and the T20 league with 4 teams • 2011 Hosting T20 tournament including 8 teams from CEE at GB Oval

OurAims and Objectives • Cricket to be played which is competitive, but most importantly sporting and fun, inthetruespirit of cricket • HCA Leadershiptobelievein and actaccordingtothehighestethicalprinciples, providingtheirservicesforthebenefit of allthecricketingcommunity • Allstepsinthedevelopment and running of theAssociationto be takenwith meeting the ICC affiliatemembershipcriteriain mind • Internalbureaucracyto be limited tothe minimum necessarytomeetourlegalobligations and ensurethesmoothfunctioning of the HCA • Inparticular, theHCA’s main focus is toexpand junior cricketinschools, universities and todevelopwomen’scricket. Inaddition, wewillaimforhighqualitybut sporting league and cupcompetitionsand an improvingnational team

  9. ICC Guidelines and howthe HCA meetsthem 1.1. Laws of Cricket Agreedinternationllawssupplementedbycertain HCA Bylaws, updatedeachseason and agreedbyall team captains 1.2. Seniorplaying Standard ICC eligibilityrulesfollowedsince2008. Playerregistrationformsobtainedeachyear and detailsconfirmedwiththe team captains. 1.3. SeniorCompetitionsDuringthe 2011 season, thereareeleven teamscompetingintwoleagues. Seventeams play intheMPI35 league and fourteamsintheT20 league. The lateseason T20 Cupwillhaveuptotenteamscompeting.

Junior CompetitionsThereareschoolteamsinsixlocations: - Bekescsaba - Budapest - Isaszeg - Szekesfehervar - Szolnok - Tiszakurt In 2010, therewere 134 active junior players. During 2011, thisnumberexceeds 150. Cricket has beendemonstratedto more than 2000 studentsinthepastfiveyears.

Women’s Cricket Around 20 activewomencricketers. 3 womenplayinginthe T20 league and 2 inthenationalsquad of 30. Regulartraining and matchesagainstwomenfrom France, Belgium, Germany and Holland CommencingSzodligetgirlsschools’ team. SeveralgirlsinvolvedintheBat & Ball junior cricket club. This is ledby a qualifiedlevel 1 coach. 70 childrenregularlyattend.

StaffingOnceaffiliationassured, wewillappoint a part- timeadministrativepersonfor 2012 and 2013, movingto a full-timepersonby 2014 2.2. Office Officespaceavailablethrough 2 boardmembers (Marton u. 36-40 orPaulay Ede 65) Dedicatedphone, fax and e-mail onceaffiliationconfirmed

PlanningPlandevelopedindraft and being discussedbytheboard The board’sprimaryfocus is thedevelopment of cricketin Hungary throughexpandingtheparticipation of juniors, bothboys and girls 3. Governance 3.1. Sole Governing Body The HCA is runbyoneboard, whichmeetsregularly (usuallyonce per month) 3.2. ConstitutionThis has beendrafted and approvedbytheboard 3.3. AGM In “constitution” terms, thisoversight is exercisedthroughthe club representatives. The lasttwomeetingswiththeserepresentativeshavebeenon 26th March 2011 and 6th November 2010. The lastofficial AGM of the HCA tookplaceon 17 September 2010.

Legal Status The HCA is an officialsports’ entity, and theofficialdetailshavebeenregisteredwiththeHungariancourt. “Charitable” status obtainedfortaxpurposes. 4. Facilities 4.1.1. Summary • Fromveryhumblebeginningsin 2007, cricketin Hungary has developedveryquickly • There has been a rapid developmentparticularlyin: • junior and women’scricket • obtainingaccesstocricketingfacilities, includingthesubstantialprivateinvestmentinthe GB Oval • stabilisingthegovernance of cricket • improvingplayingstandards • The nextphase of developmentwillsee: • an evengreateremphasisongrassrootsdevelopment • furtherimprovingtheplaying and practicefacilities • seeking a broaderfundingbase • reaching out tothe less advantagedmembers of ourcommunity • The support of the ICC will be vitaltousachievingourfutureobjectives
