HERWG Update: Reporting Status of Agencies and Estimated Flood Damage as of March 2011

As of March 11, 2011, the Humanitarian Emergency Response Working Group (HERWG) reports that 44 agencies have registered, with two updates received for the current meeting. The estimated damage from the 2010 floods includes 670,580 houses, with 181,981 one-room shelters either committed or planned. The assessment does not account for self-recovery estimations or the damage from the 2011 floods in Sindh and Balochistan. Ongoing shelter assessments indicate progress, with 48,629 one-room shelter reports compiled by district. Additionally, a material price analysis by UN-HABITAT indicates fluctuating prices across provinces.
