Question 1 Sudan is the largest country in Africa and one of the most unstable countries due to political /ethnic problems in recent years.
Question 2 Describe in detail Sahel, Savanna, Sahara, and Tropical Rain Forest (location, physical characteristics, population distribution, types of jobs, and modes of transportation). *Sahara: North Africa, desert, little population, nomadic herding, camels *Sahel: Strip of land running south of the Sahara, semi-arid, farming *Savanna: South of the Sahel, parts run through Kenya, farming and grazing Tropical Rain Forest: Central and West Africa, Tropical, dense evergreen forest, receives 60 inches of rain a year, farming.

Question 4 What are the pros and cons of the Aswan High Dam? *Pros: generates clean electricity, controls river flooding *Cons: traps fertile silt, contributes to pollution (dependence on chemical fertilizers)
