SOLID Structures & Infrastructure - Stour Leisure Centre

It is good to see the Government's target for net-zero emissions by 2050 is being met with a rollout of grants to local authorities to upgrade their building stock's energy infrastructure. One of the projects SOLID Structures & Infrastructure has just completed was the upgrades to Ashford Borough Council's Stour Leisure Centre.

OneoftheprojectsSOLIDhasjustcompleted wastheupgradestoAshfordBoroughCouncil's StourLeisureCentre.

SOLID Structures & Infrastructure Partoftheupgradeworksinvolvedthe replacementoftheLeisureCentre'sexisting gas-firedheatingplantwithair-to-waterheat pumpsandtheinstallationof 598 photovoltaicsolarpanelswhichwillreduce theCentre'scarbonemissionby 45%. Thiswill reducetheCentre'sgasandelectricity demandsby 40% andcontributetolower annualrunningcosts. Theupgradetothe energyinfrastructurewasfundedbyagrant fromthePublicSectorDecarbonisation Schemefor £1,45m. Energy Infrastructure

  4. SOLID Structures & Infrastructure NewSoft-PlayCentre Thenewsoft-playcenterboastsmultiple levelclimbing, a 3-laneslide, ropeswings, andmanymoreactivitiestokeepyounger visitorsoccupiedforhours. TheClip-n- Climboffersseveralnewclimbingwalls, eachwithauniquecharacteranditisopen toclimbersandnon-climbersofallages andabilities.

SOLID Structures & Infrastructure RefurbishedSports Hall Therefurbishedsportshallisalargemulti-use spacewithroomforeightbadmintoncourts; andnetball, five-a-sidefootball, volleyballand tabletenniscourtsalongwithtrampolining. Thentherearethreenewexercisestudiosfor largergroupclassesincludingdanceand indoorcycling.

  6. SOLIDwereinvolvedthroughout therefurbishmentandworked withAshfordBoroughCouncil, generalcontractorLSTProjects andspecialistenergycontractor LeisureEnergytocompletethis projectintimefortheSummerof 2021.
