  2. Aims Improve understanding of Mathsat KS2 and give you ideas of how you can help your child. Improve children’s knowledge and understanding.

  3. Mental Maths Activity • 50 7 4 5 2 9 • Target: 444 • Answer: 50x2=100 100x4=400 5x7=35 35+9=44 400+44=444

  4. SATs Test (Wk Beginning Monday 12th May) • Paper A (45 minutes) • Paper B (45 minutes) • Mental Maths Paper

  5. Points To Remember • Show Working Out • Numerical Explanations • Shape names AND properties • Vocabulary • Keep basic skills sharp • Problem Solving • Times tables

  6. Strategies • School calculation policy (accessible on school website) • Choose a suitable method that is accurate, reliable and suited to the question • Check answer by using inverse operations
