Steps to Take to Prevent Harassment • Keep a diary. • document the problem. • Keep detailed entries describing each time (Witnesses, who said what, when it happened). • Start low. • Start with supervisor, and express concerns. • Bring diary to present your case • Involve the law. • File a complaint with a government agency, if company didn’t handle it. • Report quickly as possible (180 day deadline).

  3. How Can You Tell If Conduct Is Unwelcome? • Outright Rejection. • Ambiguous Rejection. • Soured Romance.

  4. As The Accused • “You have a duty to cooperate in the investigation, regardless of whether you believe the allegations to be true or false. You will be expected to answer questions completely and honestly”.

  5. Disciplinary Measures • Oral/ written warning. • Deferral of a raise or promotion. • Demotion. • Suspension. • Discharge. • Depending on the severity of the situation, the accuser can even face jail time.
