Research • Format: One or more paragraphs. Photos, sketches, or illustrations of the information discussed can be helpful to the reader. • Content: A summary of the information you learned in your research that helped you to form your hypothesis. This paragraph should explain the scientific concepts (ideas) you are exploring, and help the reader understand how you decided what your hypothesis should be. • You may use: encyclopedias, books, magazines, library resources, the Internet, etc. • Record your SOURCES!!!!! • You need a minimum of 2 resources!
Hypothesis • A hypothesis is an educated guess that will answer your experimental question • It is written before you go ANY farther!!!! • It should be written in IF…. THEN… format. Materials • List materials here • Develop a specific list of materials needed • List the EXACT quantities, measures, and amounts • Use METRIC measurement only (centimeters/meters, grams/kilograms, Celsius, milliliters/liters, etc.)
Procedure • Write out a step by step set of directions that you will use to do your experiment. • Number each step. • Write it so that another person could read it and complete the EXACT same experiment • Write in COMPLETE SENTENCES! • Complete the experiment 3 times!!!
