IV Manage Tips

This guide outlines vital tips for managing intravenous (IV) therapies in clinical environments. All continuous IVs must be scanned into IV Manage to ensure accurate records. Be aware of specific dosing weight and infusion rates when administering TPN and lipids. If an alert prompts regarding insufficient fluid volume (less than 1cc), the correct response is to select 'NO.' Familiarize yourself with procedures for patient transfers from OR/ER to IV management, including the proper handling of fluid bags and the importance of armband scans at specific facilities.
