Repetition Drill*Racquet is taken up and back behind head • Description:One Feeder/ One Performer • Feeder will feed 5 high serves to the back of the court • Performer will start in base position, when feeder hits shuttle performer will move to back of court and hit OHC then recover back to base position • Repetitions: Repeat practice 3-5 times • Target: Land 3+ Shuttles between the tram lines • Feedback: Peer will observe my performance and monitor the number of shuttles landing in my target area.
Combination Drill*While moving body turns side on to net • Description: Two Feeders/ One Performer • Feeder 1 will feed 5 high serves to the back of the court,Feeder 2 will feed 5 shuttles to front of court using a dart feed • Performer will start in base position, when feeder 1 hits shuttle performer will move to back of court and hit OHC recover back to base position then lunge forward and play net shot, recover to base. • Repetitions: Repeat practice 3-5 times • Target:Land 3+ Shuttles between the tram lines (OHC) & 3+ shuttles between net and service line (Net shot) • Feedback: Recorded on iPad by peer for self assessment at end of session
Shadow Drill*Performer working on Shoulder, arm and racquet are brought forward at speed to generate power into shot • Description: One Commander/ One Performer • Performer will start in base position, performer will react to the call of the commander. • Commander will either call: Clear or Net • Performer will react to the command and shadow the shot given before returning to base after every command • Repetitions: Repeat practice 3-5 times • Target: To improve the speed of the racquet through the shot • Feedback: Commander will observe the shadow of the OHC and give instant feedback about the speed of the racquet.
