Latinus. Facts (English). Latinus was introduced by the Roman poet Virgil in the Aeneid . He was the son of Marica , a nymph, and Faunus, a god. Latinus had a daughter named Lavinia with wife Amata . The gods persuaded Latinus to allow Lavinia to marry Aeneas.

Facts (English) • Latinus was introduced by the Roman poet Virgil in the Aeneid. • He was the son of Marica, a nymph, and Faunus, a god. • Latinus had a daughter named Lavinia with wife Amata. • The gods persuaded Latinus to allow Lavinia to marry Aeneas. • He ruled the peaceful kingdom of Latium. • Latium was a region located in central Italy.
