  2. 2013 Activity to Date Region 8 • There are ~ 700 members in R8 vs ~3000 Worldwide • Membership concerns • Satisfying the needs, procuring benefits, meeting the members • Recruiting, Compensating for attrition • Be present and active In NPSS Conferences and in Co-Sponsored Conferences as well in NPSS Chapters and Student Branches Afer Sal Portillo Membership Chair

Conferences in 2013 in Europewith IEEE booth globallyabout 20 applications / ~800 R8 NPSS members 2.5% growth RADECS – Radiation Effects & hardening, Oxford, UK420 Attendees • 11 new members • including 8 graduate students (UK and France) ANIMMA – Nuclear and HEP Instrumentation, Marseilles, France 420 Attendees 40 UndergraduateStudentsadressed in 10 small groups • 9 new members Dora Merelli+Tony Lavietes, Christoph Ilgner, Patrick Le Dû + J-Luc Leray
