  2. Children’s Museum of Richmond: Children’s Museum of Richmond is situated in the Navy Hill Building, Downtown Richmond, Virginia. In 2010 this museum became the first museum to open a satellite location along the West End of Richmond in Short Pump. It further opened two satellites in 2012 and 2014 and it is also home to the Commonwealth Parenting and the Central Virginia book bank. The museum also features a little farm and a newly renovated hospital.

It is home to 2000 animals of 180 species ranging from giraffes, snow leopard, elephants, cheetah, rhinoceros, and zebras. Accredited with the Zoological Association of America it is one of the largest zoos with primate collections in the United States.
