  1. Review on Composite Score System Date : 29 November 2010, Monday Time : 5pm - 6:30pm Venue : LTA Format : A presentation on the existing system and the proposed adjustments, followed by open discussion.

  2. Background Back in 2007, the University formed a Student Housing Working Group to address the issues of student housing. The Working Group set up a sub-group consisting of students, faculty and staff to review hall allocation. After various meetings and open forums, the sub-group proposed a new Hall Allocation System which was approved by the University, and has been implemented since Spring 2008.

  3. Review After implementation of the Hall Allocation System for 2 years, a Task Force has been formed to review the Composite Score. The Task Force has faculty and staff members, and 8 student members nominated by SU. The Task Force has had two meetings, and the student members have conducted a survey to collect student views.

  5. Proposed amendment(Contribution to Campus Life) • Students with outstanding contribution to hall life and nominated by the Residence Master will be awarded 9 scores. • 10 quota for each hall. Schools will be invited to nominate 40 students based on their contribution to the Schools (not on academic result). Contribution to hall life, nominated by Residence Master Contribution to Schools, nominated by Schools Scores for “school related services” and “student ambassadors” will be increased from 1 to 3. Those who are nominated by Schools will only be counted the higher scores. Student representatives serving on LLC Committee will be awarded 3 scores. Student representatives serving on LLC Committee School related services, Student Ambassadors

  6. Proposed amendment(Outstanding Performance) • A maximum score of 15 will be awarded to each reported event and the actual score awarded is subject to the assessment of the Hall Selection Committee. (b)
