Database publishing • Problem: how to make available my database on the Web or on a CD? • Solution:GENISIS • Creates query forms assisted by an authoring tool • Completely customizable • No in-depth knowledge of CDS/ISIS needed • Generated applications will run on Unix, Linux and Windows Web servers Clearing House Workshop 2003

  7. Database publishing • GENISIS CD works the same way: • Prepare your CD interface locally • Test on your computer • Finalize the application before recording • Record the CD-Rom (using appropriate software) Clearing House Workshop 2003

  8. Data Exchange • A number of tools make it possible to transfer data from and to CDS/ISIS. • For example: CDS/ISIS Excel Access MySQL XML ISO2709 Clearing House Workshop 2003

Data Exchange From CDS/ISIS to other formats: • Using the CDS/ISIS formatting language, it is possible to export to widely recognized ASCII formats (i.e. CSV, TXT, HTML, XML) • Winisis (exports to: ISO2709 [type1] and XML) • Isis2XML (exports to XML) • ImpExp2709 (exports to ISO2709 type1, 2, 3 and 4) Clearing House Workshop 2003
