What Is Respect? What is respect? Respect can be defined in a million different ways, I asked my close friends and family what is their definition of respect, some of them had no clue while some believed it was ( kidness) (friendship), this made me think to myself "what is respect?" so my curiosity brought me to check my dictionary. In the dictionary it says 'to show regard or admiration of something'. ( Oxford dictionary ) In my opinion this is partly correct and also partly incorrect. I don't believe it necessarily has to show admiration in something to have respect, for example I would have respect for a stranger ive just met on the street, I do not admire them just have respect for them. Respect to me is not judging others and seeing everybody and everything for what they are. In my view I believe respect is a universal characteristic. 8 billion people in this world all very unique with clearly distinguishable characteristics but respect is a part of their characteristics in their own way. Christians respect the Bible and Muslims respect the Quran. These are two different religions with two...show more content... At the same time, the absence of respect can lead to conflict. What makes men like Bill Richardson and John Kamm succeed in negotiations and dialogue where many other fail, especially in their dealings with cultures other than our own? What makes them different from others? Both cite respect to be their main secret. Recognize respect to be a basic human right, treat individuals and states with dignity, and you will receive a more sustainable response. The relationships so established will be based on mutual trust and respect, and hence is likely to last. In contrast, if you browbeat your enemies (or both sides if you are the mediator) then even though the goal may be attained, the relationship will be resentful, and backlash, more than stable peace is the more likely Get more content on HelpWriting.net
Definition Of Respect What is Respect What is respect? This question is one that many people want to have a good definition of, and a good definition would be a feeling of admiration for somebody's achievements and actions and there is more to it which I will be explaining in this paper. I think it is something you can either give or receive, something powerful and important, and something that should be in every community and in every square inch of the planet. Respect is something that should be showing at home, to yourself, in public places, at school if you're still in attendance, and work if you have a job. There will be many benefits if you are to do this or already doing this the is because you will be a more likeable person and the boss might just give Get more content on HelpWriting.net
Definition Of Respect My definition of respect is when you treat someone like you want to be treated. One example is when you treat your teacher nice and not talk back to them. Another example is when you treat parents with respect and obey them. A time in my life when I was disrespected occurred in 7th grade. I felt doleful and angry. It happened in school during class. The kid disrespected me for no reason. He was calling me names like a lot of bad words. During that time I felt bullied and furious. So one day I got tired of him disrespecting me. I told the teacher and she got the kid in trouble. The counselor called the kid up and also me to say what the kid told me. She moved me away of him and he never disrespected me. I made a poor Get more content on HelpWriting.net
Respect Definition Essay The feeling of a deep admiration for someone could be used to describe the word respect. Others may say that allowing a person to believe in or speak for whatever they feel the need to show a great deal of respect. A substitute meaning for the word is an agreement to abide by a person's rules or thoughts, and avoiding confrontation, though you may not fully agree with what that person has to say, their interests, or even the way things are being presented, you are still courteous and polite. Multiple different meanings and definitions are used to describe the word respect. One may say that respect can be defined as an acknowledgement of something or of someone (Marriam Webster.) Acknowledging something or someone means to recognize the fact, importance, or quality of something or someone. When speaking with someone, a person should normally acknowledge everything the other person is saying. Nodding when a person speaks could be a great way to express the fact that you may be acknowledging them. By acknowledging a person, the person receiving the message is confirming that they matter and that what they are saying may be relevant,...show more content... Respect could be hard to come by and that is because sometimes people let their emotions get in the way of their respect towards that person or persons. This can be a problem because a person should not let their emotions prevent them from acting the way they should and showing someone the respect that person deserves. Some may have a difference of opinion and still show respect towards someone in order to be thought highly of or to avoid a problem from stirring. How a person acts and what a person does that shape them into the person they are. If you want the respect of others, you must first give it, though respect should be a thing common enough where every person receives it. You should never be surprised when someone treats you with respect, you should expect it(Sarah Get more content on HelpWriting.net
My Definition Of Respect I believe that my best quality would be character. I love to volunteer at events and seeing the smiles on people's faces knowing that I helped put that there. As of late, I have cut back my hours that I work at Hawkeye Care Center Cresco but I like to stop by at least once a week to visit with the residents. The residents are always very excited to see me when I come by to visit and it makes me feel good knowing that I brightened their day. As I grow older, I always try to think everything out to do the right thing while making decisions. I always try to treat everyone with respect and consideration because I know that I would want to be treated the same way. Respect is a big aspect of my life. My definition of respect would be treating everyone Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Respect Definition Essay Respect, a term used for a sense of trust. Many people strive to earn respect from others. Respect is not always easy to obtain. Just one action can destroy any respect that someone had for another. Respect is not given it must be earned. Respect is an achievement. Earning the respect of people is something to be proud of because it is not easy. The real definition of respect is, an achievement not given, but earned through hard hard work. People today do not understand the true definition of respect. Kids tend to think they just deserve to be respected by everyone. I also have a tendency to think that I deserve respect from everyone and I can get frustrated sometimes when I am not respected. Some adults also have false perceptions of what respect is. Adults will say you should "respect your elders", yes this is true, but some adults take it too far and they must realize respect is a two way street. Respect is not...show more content... Respect is said to be held by a thin line. Say someone breaks a promise or talks behind another person's back, just like that all respect for a person can be gone. That is what so many people do not understand about respect. What does respect really mean. The technical definition of respect is a deep feeling of admiration usually because of their abilities, qualities, or achievements. To me respect is much more than that. Respect is an achievement in itself. We should be proud of the respect we have earned from others and continue to strive for more. It is not just a deep admiration for someone it's a sense of fulfillment and a challenge to maintain that respect and make it grow. Earning respect is the only way to obtain it and once earned we now have a greater responsibility. Some people may not care about respect, but they will not get very far without it. Everyday we must strive for respect amongst employers, teachers, family, and friends. Respect is one of the greatest achievements we will ever Get more content on HelpWriting.net
