  8. Supporting with handwriting • Pencil grip • Letter mat • Magic Pen • Making writing fun • Colourful pens and pencils • Variety of writing choices and paper

  9. Phonics Screening Check • Children will be screened for their ability to segment and blend sounds in real and nonsense words. • 40 words (20 real words 20 nonsense words) • Highlights the importance of children knowing all of their sounds and always sounding words out.
