Alerts in SIREN • Some SIREN alerts require confirmation • You can confirm SIREN alerts via: • SIREN website • Email (2 methods) • Text Message (if your phone has internet capabilities – follow confirmation via email Method #1) • Phone • You only need to confirm from 1 location
Confirmation via SIREN website • Log in to SIREN and find your Alert Summary • Click on the Date & Time stamp
Confirmation via SIREN website Cont.. • Click on “Confirm Receipt of Alert” link • Once selected, this link will then disappear and your alert confirmation is logged
Confirmation via Email There are 2 methods of confirming alerts via email Method #1 • Open your email application • Locate and open the message from alert@siren.illinois.gov
Confirmation via Email Method #1 • Open and Read Message • Click on “Click to Confirm Receipt of this Message” link
Confirmation via Email Method #1 • If you are not logged into the SIREN system, it will bring up the “Connect to www.siren.illinois.gov” login window • Enter your user name & password • Click the OK button
Confirmation via Email Method #1 • You will see the SIREN page with the confirmation status of the alert notification
Confirmation via Email Method #2 • Follow Directions 1-4 at the bottom of the email alert
Confirmation via Email Method #2 • Click “Reply” to email • In subject line, after the subject name and id # (do not delete these), type in confirm • Send email
Confirmation via Phone • Answer phone and say “Hello” • SIREN message is voice activated • If prompted, enter in your 4 digit alerting Security Code • Listen to alert and follow directions of message • At the end of the message, press 1 to confirm alert Confirmation of alerts will not occur unless you press 1 at the end of the message
