Steps to download vncviewer on to your PC Go tohttp://www.realvnc.com Click on download it now Takes you tohttp://www.realvnc.com/download.html
Choose package appropriate for your PC Operating System Installable packages: Windows 9x/2000/NT/XP (x86)
Download Areax86 Win32viewer program only executable (.exe) (268K)
telnet aludra.usc.edulogin: <your_username>password: <your_password>
~eeview/ePD_initial.setup sets up pv directory adds lines to your .login file creates .vnc directory You may have to edit your .login
You need to edit the .login file if you were using powerview before (in year 2002 or before) • comment out in .login the old ~eeview/powerview.setup
Logout and login again to source the new lines added to your .login file
Invoke vncserver unix>vncserver unix>password: verify Provides a display aludra.usc.edu:9
Invoke vncviewer on your PC Click on vncviewer icon Put in host name aludra.usc.edu:9 Password Open a terminal
Edit your .login file if needed Use emacs or vi or pico editors to edit the .login file logout and login Before you logout, do not forget to run cleanup_vnc_ePDwhenever you use vncserver on unix Also use kill –9 –1 to kill all processes and logout
