  5. DRAFT: Discussion points Styve: 1. How does labor supply and productivity play a role in effectively executing large energy projects. • Projects compete globally for feasibility • When a multinational companies are trying to determine the feasibility of project site . The choice site is a global competition. A history of projection execution on time and on Budget is essential to a regions ability to compete. • Our region for its size has shown that we have the ability to execute these projects and has demonstrated it in the past • Example 2009 we had Canaport Pt Lepreau Refurb and Irving oil refinery all at the same period. (elaborate) 1200 employees Ect 2. Styve what are some of the challenges with regards to maintaining and an adequate supply of trades in the region to execute future projects. • To attract and maintain trades people they need to work even during lulls in the industry • Key to this is labor mobility • We need to work as an industry to remove interprovincial barriers to labor mobility. Safety training, Apprenticeship recognition, Welder qualifications all contribute barriers.
