Metronome in Sonar. The Metronome Settings are located in the upper toolbar. The metronome settings are the last box. If you do not see your metronome settings, go to the pull-down menu “View”  Toolbars, This dialogue box will come up and you mat choose Metronome. . . . Metronome.

  1. Metronome in Sonar The Metronome Settings are located in the upper toolbar. The metronome settings are the last box. If you do not see your metronome settings, go to the pull-down menu “View”  Toolbars, This dialogue box will come up and you mat choose Metronome   

  2. Metronome Click on the Metronome settings and this dialogue box will appear. Your setting should be set to: 1. Recording2. Measures3. Use MIDI note4. Port 15. Channel 10 First Beat and other beats will allow you to adjust the timbre and the velocity of the metronome click

  3. Metronome There are 8 boxes divided into four categories. The first category has three options all having to do with record count-in The second category has two options all having to do with when your metronome counts. The third category has two options for what metronome you are using. The final category is for your metronome settings. By holding your mouse over these boxes (and most boxes in Sonar) a dialogue box will appear telling you the name of the box.

  4. Metronome • Using the midi metronome is better than using the audio metronome for a number of reasons. First, we are not set up to isolate the signal so if you are recording audio you will get the metronome click. Second it helps to conserve your DSP.

  5. Metronome The basic Metronome speed is controlled by the tempo control in the upper toolbar. If you do not see your metronome settings, go to the pull-down menu “View”  Toolbars, 

Setting the Metronome • You should use channel 10 for your click track, (this follows GM standards) • Set your first beat to the timbre that you want, use 127 as the velocity • Set other beat to the same timbre and change the velocity to 80. • You may need to make adjustments to this based on timbre chosen for click track and timbre that you uses when you are recording.
