  2. A Virtual Field Trip (VFT) • “Virtual field trips (VFTs) started appearing around 1995, but greatly grew in popularity starting around 2000. The VFT was seen as a way to organize the educational potential of the internet in a coherent, appropriate fashion, particularly for primary and secondary education. Conclusion • In my opinion, VFT will never replace traditional field trips and direct student interaction • It is important to expose our students to new situations and places as much as possible • Excellent idea to introduce new topics • Great visual examples • Always prepare and pre-screen websites!
