  4. Environmental issues a top priority • Receiving unprecedented attention • 2005: UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair, helped shift dialoc,gue in the business relm • 2009: former US VP Al Gore pressures US Congress to take decisive action • Dec, 2009: Copenhagen UN climate summit

Businesses Reaction • Grappling with production of carbon footprint • Feeling pressure from customers/stakeholders • Governments introduce environment policies: • Greenhouse gas reduction • Natural resource protection • Clean water initiatives • Energy efficiency • Started to make serious improvements • Finding reduced energy can mean savings
