  2. Role of CAD in Structural Drafting Computer Aided Designing/Drafting (CAD) is an integral part of Structural Engineering Services. This designing or drafting process is nothing but a representation of building in two dimensions. In this technically advanced age, drafting is done using computers rather than creating it manually. Initially, engineers lay out the first set of drawings which is then detailed out including all the parameters. But this is not the case with CAD drafting, as the drawings can be stored easily on the computer server. This drawing information can then be accessed as and when required.
