1. The Vampire Diaries Fight Love CHANGE By: Natasha Stanicki

2. Introduction • The TV show that I am choosing to introduce to you today is that of the Vampire Diaries. This TV series is about a High School girl name Elena Gilbert who is torn between two vampire brothers.

3. Damon Salvatore • Damon plays a vampire character in the Vampire Diaries series of novels. Damon has negative qualities in the series, during the continuing episodes Damon begins to try working along side his brother Stefan Salvator and his girlfriend Elena Glibert. In 1964 Damon was turned into a vampire after being shot by his father with Katherine Pierce`s blood in his system his vampire transition when his younger brother Stefan, also a vampire himself got his brother to kill a woman angry that he made him take the transition, he himself voted to make Stefan`s life miserable for as long as he lives.

4. Stefan Salvatore • Stefan Salvatore is a hero as well as a huge protagonist in the male lead of the Vampire Diaries. He is 164 years old, he was raised in the supernatural town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. He decides to go back to his old home (Salvatore Boarding House) he is the youngest son of Giuseppe Salvatore and his un named mother. He is the brother of Damon Salvatore, Stefan has a love-hate on and off rivalry with him since 1864. He also has an off relationship with his former love interest Elena Gilbert. He was also the former love interest of Katherine who was both Stefan, and Damon's creator. Stefan met Katherine in 1864 and was instantly drawn to her, however there came a time when Damon was interested in her himself. Do to both their loves for her they began their rival and were in competition for her affections, although Stefan`s love was strong for her he was unaware of what she was. Which was a vampire, she compiled Stefan to drink her blood, later after Stefan was finished with his transition he went to visit his father, who was shocked to see him alive, unaware that he was a vampire he proceeded to tell his son that he was the one who shot both him and his brother. He tells his father that he is going to let himself die by not completing the transition. His fathers reaction was horrible as he ran to his son with a wooden stake, unaware of his newborn ability's Stefan throws his father against the wall, and stabbing his father in the stomach he runs over to help his father pull it out, but he became very overwhelmed with the blood, he drinks his fathers blood and completes his vampire transition. • Quote– “ I`m not depressed. I just want to rip into someone's artery and feed until I cant breathe anymore.” – Stefan to Caroline.

5. Katherine Pierce • Is a vampire as well as a former lovers to both the brothers. Katherine first appeared in recurring flashbacks showing her physically romantic relationship with both of the Salvatore brothers, eventually turning them both into vampires. She was captured by the town to be destroyed, she ended up showing a different side of her that no one seen before and she managed to escape. (she faked her own death) 145 years later she returned to the falls and started to go with the brothers again. Cutting off her lose ends she managed to kill all ofthe “Tomb Vampires” she ended up being deeply hated for the murder. So she went and turned Caroline into a vampire, to help her with protection. • Quoted In TV- “Humanity is a vampires greatest weakness. No matter how easy it is to turn off, It keeps trying to fight its way back in. Sometimes I let it.” Katherine to Stefan.

6. Elena Gilbert • Elena Gilbert is the heroine the protagonist and the main female character in the hit TV show The Vampire Diaries. She is an 18 year old vampire who was recently turned with Damon's blood she as well lives in the town of Mystic Falls with her adoptive brother and her biological cousin Jeremy at 2104 Maple Street she is best friends with Caroline Forbes and Bonnie Bennett, Elena has an on-off relationship with Stefan Salvatore until losing him when he gave himself to Kalusin exchange for a werewolf bite. However she is now in a relationship with Stefan`s younger brother Damon who is both dangerous and seductive, He is in love with her and ever since she has become a vampire herself her feelings for him have grown stronger. She attends the Falls high school where she is a former cheerleader, honor student, and most popular girl in school. Elena wants to become a great writer she stated this in an earlier conversation with Stefan in the series, she has a diary in which she writes everything that happens to her in her life. She was originally turned into this direction by her mother, she was given her first diary by herself. Elena has to deal with trying to live a normal life ever since her adoptive parents died in a car accident. Even if she had never met the Salvatore brothers or have fallen in love with them she would still be in danger do to she is the second “Petrovadoppleganger”. Stefan unexpectedly saved Elena's life on May 23,2009 when he adoptive parents car went off “Wickery Bridge.” He tried to save her father but he insisted that he would save Elena first. When he pulled Elena out of the car he was shocked to see the resemblance that she had to his old lover “Katherine” he then took her to the Mystic Falls hospital and had been watching over her for the continuing four months to make sure that she was safe and not at all his old lover Katherine. Elena said it was a “miracle” that she survived such a horrifying accident and she questioned how it was any way possible that she survived and made it out of the car, after discovering what a pure heart she had Stefan realized he could not leave Mystic Falls without knowing her so he began at her school. • Quote– “ You don’t need to love me like this. This is who I am now. The old Elena died when she went off that bridge. Let her go.” – Elena to Stefan

7. Bonnie Bennett • She is best friends with Caroline Forbes and Elena Gilbert while she fills the role of a counselor and confidante, Bonnie is also the brassy-but-cautious witch, who discovers her powers just in time to help her family and friends. Bonnie is also noted for having many heroine tendencies, namely being repeatedly ready to sacrifice her life for her friends, as her powers have increased the witch has stepped up at pretty much every opportunity to trade her life for those who are her friends. She is thankfully alive and well her spell ability's most definitely came in handy when the original vampires decided to come into town. • Quote– “ The spirits don’t get to tell me what to do anymore I’m done being pushed around by all of you. I did it because I wanted to.” – Bonnie to Kalus.

8. Caroline Forbes • She is the best friend of Elena and Bonnie prior to Caroline’s tradition, she was known for her insecurities, with caused her to be excessively competitive, especially with Elena. Through out the series Caroline starts dating Elena’s ex-boyfriend Matt Donovan, who encourages her to become a more caring, kind, and selfless young woman. In the season one finale Caroline is severely injured in a car reckand suffers from really bad internal bleeding. Damon feeds her his blood to heal her that evening Caroline is smothered to death with a pillow by Katherine Pierce, who later found out that she was feed Damon`s blood earlier. She is shown do be very strong for her age. Katherine is planning to use Caroline for her own advantage to give to Kalus as a way for them to do a sacrifice, but Damon finds a soft side of himself and ends up rescuing her. • Quote – “ You’re perfect, which is beyond annoying, I can’t even look at you.” – Caroline to Klaus.

9. Jeremy Gilbert • Jeremy Gilbert is the adoptive brother and biological of Elena Gilbert, and now is a part of the five. At the beginning of the series his parents died in a very tragic car accident, and Elena managed to survive due to the saving of Stefan. As a way of Jeremy coping with it he decided to start using drugs but stopped after the death of his girlfriend Vicky, he overdosed on pills after drinking some vampire blood in hope of becoming one so he would be able to turn off his emotions he did this at the following death of his new girlfriend Anna. However his attempt failed and the blood healed all the damage the pills did to his body. Because of being shot later on by the town Sheriff Jeremy received the power of being able to see ghosts which caused him to now be haunted by his earlier girlfriends Anna and Vicki, later he went to live with his friends in Denver. After being compelled by kalus to stand in front of a speeding car. After everything he decided to go back to Mystic Falls after Elena and Damon went to get him. • Quote – “Connor was right. All I can think about it killing vampires.” – Jeremy to Elena

10. Tyler Lockwood • Tyler Lockwood is a Hybrid and plays for a football team at Mystic Falls High School. He was a werewolf until he was successfully sired by Kalus. He is portrayed to be ignorant, selfish, and a bully. But after triggering the family curse that turned him into the werewolf that he used to be, he learned to tone his behaviour down and learn that it was not the way to go. He is shown to have an athletic build, and great strength as a human, he also has a very short temper which causes him to get mad very easily, he could not understand why he behaved the way he did, after his uncle Mason Lockwood came to visit him after Richard Lockwood’s death. • Quote – “I’m going to kill him!” – Tyler to Connor.

11. In My Opinion… • In my opinion I find this particular TV show very interesting, dramatic, suspenseful and all in all enjoyable. • Why?? • There is always new and interesting things that happen in each episode that make me especially want to continue watching it and the actors are very good looking I have to admit so who wouldn’t want to continue watching with them in it?! Especially as vampires! 
