  3. Introduction • The UNECE has a long history of compiling statistics • Database web dissemination started in 2006 • We use PC-Axis software tools • We are currently re-engineering data production systems

Modernising statistical production • This is an important topic for many statistical organizations • Important contributions have been made by CES expert groups, including: • Generic Statistical Business Process Model • Tools to support shared software development • The process-oriented approach is applied in UNECE database re-engineering

  7. Database users • Database downloads monitored using PC-Axis tools • Database website “hits” monitored using • Annual database user survey • Results used to develop annual data quality improvement programmes

Future plans • Finish database re-engineering • Add data on Millennium Development Goals • Support activities of CES groups of experts: • Exchange of ideas and experiences • Tools to facilitate statistical software sharing • Information on implementing the GSBPM • Technical support to CES countries in English and Russian

  9. Conclusions • Data should be disseminated free of charge • A simple, user-friendly interface is needed • Dissemination tools should fit within a process-oriented business architecture • PC-Axis meets these needs for UNECE
