It would also add an element of risk to the operation, which could have cause delays. Helicrane was commissioned to deliver the materials to the sites directly, and over 3,500 tons of materials were airdropped in and around the Pir-Panjal range. Security and support from the army ensured that the project went ahead without any problems.
