Issues • We have had to come to consensus on what the document means in various places – who are we hiring, and for what job? • Is this person first a publisher and then a member of our community, or a person in our community with publishing background? • Balance responsibility and authority • Why did first round search (last year) fail, and has that been corrected? • How do we ensure that this round succeeds?

  5. Call for candidates • Issued two weeks ago in various community vehicles • ISOC and IETF web sites • Social media • Advertisements, • … • To date, seven responses, • RSOC evaluating and interviewing • Probable professional search as well, to surface people who are first publishers

  6. Stay tuned • Plan: • Interview candidates in August/September • Potential hire in October/November • Hey, one can hope, right?
