The development of the mesoderm in protosomes are called schizocoelom which is defined as the developing mesoderm rises from the area near the blastophore where division takes place forming the mesoderm

  17. Slide 17 – Deuterostomes - enterocoelom In deuterosomes, the blastopore (single opening of the archenteron) forms the anus. The development of the mesoderm is called an enterocoelom which is defined as the developing mesoderm rises from a pair of mesodermal pouch from the primitive gut (endoderm). This pouch enlarges until they meet and fuse
