Unidad 1 • What are the levels? • How do they relate to my grade/ability/effort? • Remember the ice cream cone metaphor… • You will be given points for all the quality work you complete and all the objectives you meet! • The work is clearly aligned to the objectives and by skill level so by the time you take your unit test or any of your quizzes you should know about where your grade will be (if you did 50% of the work, you’ll have 50% of the knowledge you need to pass and you’ll likely get a 50% on the test!) • How do I get a grade? • Worksheets are graded credit/no credit. You must have at least 70% of the work done correctly in order to receive credit. • Novice Mid and higher level activities will be graded on rubrics based on the objectives they cover. You will be graded on how close you come to mastering the objectives. On presentations you will receive your grade instantly (in most cases). On projects you turn in for grading you will not receive your grade until the unit ends (plan accordingly). • How do I turn work in? • Turn your worksheets in as you complete them directly to Señora. Sign up to present your other assignments as you’re ready to do so. Presentations of Novice-Mid and up assignments will generally take place in the second to third weeks of the unit. There will be time for 5 presentations per class, and it will be a first-come-first serve basis. If you do not present, you cannot get credit for • When do I turn work in? • As you complete it or at the end of the unit, whichever you prefer. NOTE: if you wait to turn your work in you will not get your assignment grades until after the unit ends!
