  1. Fruits and Veggies for Heart Health

  2. We have been told ever since we're kids that we need to eat fruits and vegetables if we want to be healthy and strong. To many people, this can be easier said than done. According to the American Dietetic Association, we should eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables everyday for heart disease prevention. Consuming plenty of fruits and vegetables will give us the vitamins and minerals we need in order to have a healthy heart. Below are some tips to help you incorporate fruits and vegetables in the different meals of the day. You probably know already that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It is also a great opportunity for you to load up on fruits and vegetables. If you like eating eggs in the morning, one of the things that you can do is to make a vegetable omelet. Just add tomatoes, pepper, onions and some mushrooms with an egg and voila, you have a very healthy breakfast. Instead of drinking coffee, you can also drink fruit juice in the morning. Fresh juice is always better than canned of course.

  3. During your midday snack, you can munch on an apple or maybe a banana instead of cookies or chips. You can also turn some of your favorite fruits and vegetables into a healthy smoothie or shake. If you are fond of oatmeal or even cereals, you can add fruits and vegetables to these items for added flavor and texture. You can also add some fruits and veggies together with different kinds of nuts to make a delicious and nutritious trail mix. Do you know that eating raisins, died prunes and other dried fruits can be counted as a serving of fruit? You can eat these snack items any time of the day. If you like having sandwiches for lunch and dinner, what you can do is to add lettuce, peppers, onions and tomatoes with ham or even a burger. You can also have vegetable soups such as squash or tomato for lunch or dinner. If you are the type of person who doesn't like eating having stuff at dinner, then you can just have a salad. Just toss some lettuce, tomatoes, onions and carrots in a bowl, add a low-fat dressing and you dinner is already served.

  4. Do you know that you can even add veggies to some of your favorite food items like pizza? Who doesn't love pizza? You can make a healthier version by putting peppers, olives, onions and mushrooms. These are just some of the things that you can do to make sure that you get five servings of fruits and vegetables everyday for heart disease prevention. http://www.thestrictionbpreview.com/
