  2. The Tuskegee airman • One million, two hundred thousand Africans fought in ww2. And although the majority knew that they would fight in segregation, many African Americans were not able to serve in the way they wanted. • The USAAF’S black fliers, also called The Tuskegee airman were African American avatars that were taught to pilot and had proper authority over anyone no matter race.

  3. impact Showed that African Americans could play a bigger role in the gov than what was offered to them. Plus it showed that African American men had patriotism and were willing to serve for their country that they had accepted.

  4. Tuskegee Airman facts One type of jet they flew was the CURTISS P-40E WARHAWK. The leader was black man Gen O. Davis jr. he was one of 2 African American officers already in the army

  5. Facts cont. The Tuskegee Institute, a black college founded in Alabama in 1881 by Booker T. Washington, participated in the Roosevelt administration's pilot training program, and got the African Americans started.

  6. After the war They returned to their original lives to see that they would still be discriminated after their service.
