Discovering the Fascinating History of Aqueducts

Explore the remarkable world of aqueducts, engineering marvels designed to transport water from distant sources through pipes or channels, often using gravity. From the impressive eleven major aqueducts of Rome to those built by ancient Egyptians and Harappans, these structures were pivotal in ancient civilizations. The most renowned aqueducts include Aqua Augustus in Italy, the Pont du Gard in France, and the Valens Aqueduct in Turkey. Learn about their construction, historical significance, and the ingenuity behind these vital water systems used for centuries.
