Business Advisory Services for SMEs Experienced advice on all business aspects over a range of industry sectors Co-location and interaction among related programs and organizations Over 300 companies assisted since Dec ‘03 Ontario-wide service area Free Service – not for profit organization supported by public & private sector ISCMBusiness Advisory Service “ISCM has established a reputation for helping existing SMEs find ways to grow, and to overcome obstacles to growth.”

ISCM’s Approach to Commercialization ONTARIO SMEs • ISCM R&D Partnership Service • Client facing team focuses on needs of SMEs • identifies client’s technology need • Institution facing team provides SMEs access to Ontario’s research community Benefits • Prepares SME to adopt technology • Creates Market Pull for technology Client Facing Team Institution Facing Team ONTARIO Research Community (Universities, Colleges, Gov Labs.)

ISCM R&D Partnership Service • R&D Partnership Services for SMEs • Experienced professionals contact SMEs and promote the benefits of collaborating on technology • Met with 50 clients, and identified 25 technology requests for 17 companies • Over 70 researchers from 20 institutions across Ontario have responded • 11 companies have engaged in in-depth discussion with researchers about projects “ISCM enables SMEs to find technology and researchers who want to work with industry.”
