  1. The £5 Challenge

  2. Kabubbu Kabubbu is a small village in Uganda. The Quicken Trust first visited Kabubbu 10years ago and saw how devastating the village was and set up their charity. In April 2012, a group of students and staff will be visiting Kabubbu through the Quicken Trust on a charity trip to help with the development of the village. To be able to go on this trip, we need to raise £16,000 for the village, and this does not include our flights or accommodation.

  3. The Challenge We challenge every one of you to raise £5. You can go under or over, whatever is possible. You can work together in a group to raise larger amounts or work individually. We challenge you to raise this by Wednesday 7th December 2011.

  4. What is in it for You? After our trip to Uganda, we will be able to present to you what your money has gone towards through another presentation. This will help to show you how useful each event has been to the village. Every penny we raise really makes a difference to the lives of the people in Uganda, and the students and staff witness exactly how the money is spent.

  5. We are also offering prizes to the individual who raises the most money and also the form who raise the most.

  6. Ideas We have come up with a series of ideas which you could use and would be happy to help you if you wanted to organise any larger events; Lunch time film Bake sale – school, family, family work Car wash Dog walk Loose change Sponsored walk/silence/read/swim House chores Quiz Lunchtime show

  7. Where your money goes Our main project in Kabubbu is to build two houses in the village, however we also take part in many other projects. We will take part in Development Projects where we visit families and assess their greatest needs. We then visit the markets and provide items we believe they need most. Travelling with our group is also a local Doctor from Hastings who supports the medical centre to help with the very basic care offered in Uganda.

  8. Help Our Kabubbu team will try our hardest to help you in any larger events that need to be organised as part of your £5 challenge, so feel free to contact us on the below email should you need any help: kabubbu@hotmail.co.uk
