The technology makes use of sensors mounted on the rear bumper or side mirrors to detect vehicles in adjacent lanes. On detection of an obstruction, the sensors alert the driver via an audible or visual warning. • Different software leaders are now working towards incorporating blind spot detection systems in future automobiles to enable safe driving experience for people. Citing an instance, Pioneer Electronics launched three new blind-spot detection systems developed to help drivers be safe. The Pioneer BSD System signals the driver with a flashing light indicating the direction of the detection.
