  2. Introduction  Cosmetic dentistry is generally used to refer to any dental work that improves the appearance of teeth, gums and/or bite.  It primarily focuses on improvement dental aesthetics in color, position, shape, size, alignment and overall smile appearance.

  3. Types in Cosmetic Dentistry Treatment There are so many types of treatments in Cosmetic Dentistry. Some of the types in Cosmetic Dentistry are:  Teeth Whitening  Dental Bonding  Gum Reshaping  Bridges  Braces  Crowns

  4. Teeth whitening  Laser whitening is a teeth whitening technique in which gums are covered with rubber and a bleaching chemical is applied on the teeth.  A Beam of argon laser is used to accelerate the process of bleaching, is then projected on teeth. This laser activates the bleaching chemical and lightens the teeth color.

  5. Gum Reshaping  Gum reshaping can improve a "gummy" smile in which teeth appear too short, or where the gum line appears uneven.  A small amount of gum tissue and excess bone tissue if necessary -- is removed and contoured to expose more of the teeth. This procedure can be done to one tooth to even the gum line, or to several teeth to expose a natural, broad smile.

  6. Dental Bonding  Bonding is a process in which an enamel like dental composite material is applied to a tooth’s surface, sculpted into shape, hardened and then polished.

  7. Bridges  A permanent bridge replaces one or more teeth by placing crowns on the teeth either side of the gap, by attaching artificial teeth to them. The bridge is then cemented into place.

  8. Braces  Braces can make the crooked or misaligned teeth in correct place and improves the appearance of anyone’s smile.  Braces works by applying pressure over teeth and slowly moves them into alignment. When the teeth moves, the bony tooth socket changes its shape as pressure applied

  9. Crowns  A Crown is a tooth-shaped “cap” that replaces the damaged tooth over a week to increase its shape, size and strength.  Crowns can be made of metal, porcelain fused to metal or ceramic.
